A Note on Fit and Safety:

When I was figuring out when to size up on swaddles and sleep sacks, I was told to always pay attention to the weight measurements for a safe fit. For example, when H hit the max weight limit, even if she was still in the recommended age range or in the length, it was time to move up in sizes. Please keep that in mind when shopping for your little one!

Transitional Sleep Sacks

These sleep sacks are great to use if you started out swaddling your little, as they help make the transition from a full swaddle to a sleep sack more manageable!

Love to Dream

I always loved seeing baby H in her Love to Dream sleep sack, with her arms up and all snuggled up in it! It gives freedom for the arms to move, but also protects their face from flailing hands!

Merlin’s Sleepsuit

This big puffy sleep sack is great for the extra cozy feeling for little. However, if they can roll over, it’s not recommended as they can’t use their arms very well!

Zipadee Zip

The Zipadee Zip sleep sack was our go-to for a long time, as it was similar to the Love to Dream, but with just a little more freedom! I’ve found that transitioning is hard because it’s more about managing the Moro Reflex!

Burt’s Bees

Burt’s Bees sacks are a basic wearable blanket. These are the ones I always try to get my little to wear once we’re ready to transition to sleep sacks. Plus they aren’t too expensive when it comes to sleep sacks either!

Flying Squirrel

The company that makes the Zipadee Zip (mentioned above) also make the flying squirrel sleep sacks, which are great wearable blankets that have access to hands and feet, but still have the coverage of some of the transitional sleep sacks.

Toddler Sleep Sack

The one that my 2 year old daughter wears right now, is this basic toddler sleep sack that allows her to walk around freely. I loved the one for winter time as she looked like a marshmallow! The summer sleep sack is just as great as well.
