Stick to the Registry

One thing that I will always tell you to do first is check the registry, especially if the parents-to-be have one! They took the time to research and find the exact items they want and need. This should always be your first step to giving the best baby shower gift! After that, if you’re looking for some further ideas to add to their registry gift or if they don’t have a registry, check out some of the best baby shower gift ideas below!

Best Baby Shower Gift Ideas For Baby

  • Zipper Sleepers

You can’t go wrong with ZIPPER sleepers (or the magnetic ones, but they’re more expensive). Trust me, parents do not want to mess with the 723 buttons at 3 am. I also recommend getting any clothing in 3-6 months rather than newborn. Parents tend to get lots of newborn clothes, but sometimes it seems like people forget that babies grow!

  • Booty paste

If there is a specific booty paste that is on the registry, get that one! While it isn’t the most glamorous baby shower gift for baby, it’s needed and having it on hand from day one is so nice for parents. If there isn’t a paste on the registry, I swear by this booty paste!

  • Diapers or wipes

Another fabulous baby shower gift idea (and a classic!) is just a good old box of diapers or package of wipes. If there’s a specific brand on the registry, go with that. If not, Huggies, Pampers, or Kirkland Signature (from Costco) are solid brands. Same as the sleepers, I always recommend getting a bigger size than newborn. Size 2 or even 3 is great, as they won’t use them immediately, but within the first year typically!

  • Lovevery shipment box

I swear by Lovevery and their toy shipment boxes. My daughter has always loved the boxes she has received every few months and the toys are extremely high quality.

If you’re worried about the price of Lovevery, I also learned about another brand called Tiny Land that has a lot of similar products to Lovevery. Highly recommend them as well!

Best Baby Shower Gift Ideas For Mom

I think the best baby shower gift ideas are ones that include mom. She literally just carried a little human being for 9 months, birthed them, and now is dealing with their identity as a new mom. Shower her with love – literally!

  • Nipple balm

If you know that she is nursing, a nipple balm is a great baby shower gift idea to help with those sore nipples. I loved the Earth Mama brand for myself, as it wasn’t as sticky as Lanisoh – plus it has calendula in it, which promotes healing as well!

  • Hydrators

Staying hydrated is so important postpartum, as it can help with nursing, mental health, gut health, and literally just make you feel better overall. Get some IV hydrators for mom as part of your baby shower gift!

  • Cute mom cup

Along with hydrators, a cute mom cup (or two) is a great baby shower gift to give mom. When I was postpartum, I had water bottles EVERYWHERE to keep me hydrated.

  • Comfy pajamas or nursing shirt

Loungewear or a comfortable nursing shirt is a great option for mom as well. Being comfortable after having a baby and not having to stress about what to wear each day is a big relief.

My Favorite Gift to Give

When it comes to the best baby shower gift to give, I will be biased towards my “go-to” gift.

First I get a sleeper or some cute onesies for the baby to roll up. Then I make sure to get something healthcare wise from the registry – booty paste, lotion, soap, etc. For mom, I typically get something to support nursing, especially if I know they are going to nurse, as that is something I want to support other moms through. Finally, instead of putting it all in a bag, I get a basket that will hold everything. The basket is perfect to hold postpartum goodies in the bathroom or hold toys for new baby, plus it looks cute!
