10 Best Teacher Instagrams to Follow

If you’re an educator and haven’t been using Instagram to find lessons, decor ideas, or to find out what it’s like for other teachers, you’re missing out! Teachergram has so much to offer and as a newer teacher, I have loved turning to Instagram to find new ideas or to help myself become more thoughtful about how I handle different situations. If you’re interested in the Teachergram world, here’s a quick list of the top 10 best teacher Instagrams that you should follow to get started!

**Please note that, because I’m a high school teacher, most of these are going to be middle or high school teacher Instagram accounts.

1 – @thesuperheroteacher

The Superhero Teacher is a former teacher that now does classroom renovation projects! Brittany Jelema is one of the first teacher Instagrams that I followed and I have never regretted it! Along with the classroom decor and organization ideas, she is part of the LGBTQIA+ community and provides resources and guidance on how to be an ally for your students that are part of the community.

2 – @toocoolformiddleschool

Megan is a middle school ELA and history teacher, who also runs a YouTube channel and recently published a new book! So basically, she’s a superstar! She’s another teacher Instagram that I followed at the beginning of my Teachergram account because I’m a social studies and English teacher, but at the high school level. She is also a great resources on how to bring more diversity into your curriculum and provides support as well!

3 – @affirmationsandaccessibility

Affirmations and Accessibility, aka Erin, is a Special Education high school teacher Instagram influencer who is a huge advocate of mental health support within the classroom. She’s most well-known for creating the mental health check-in chart (which I have personally used a couple times myself) within the classroom. Along with SPED and mental health, she has a toddler that she is always sharing activities for in her stories. As a new mama, I love seeing the activities that I can try in the future, along with bettering myself as a teacher!

4 – @buildingbooklove

This secondary English educator is the podcast queen! Ashley is always sharing the ways that she brings podcasts into the classroom. Plus she has an amazing TeachersPayTeachers account with so many amazing resources. And to top it off – she runs Keeping the Wonder workshops to help secondary English teachers create fun, educational lessons. That is just the teacher stuff Ashley has on her account – there is so much more too! You’ll have to give her teacher Instagram a follow to find out everything else that she is a master at (hint: thrifting, traveling, home renovation!).

5 – @helloteacherlady

Shana is a middle school ELA and Journalism teacher who is a tech guru. When we moved to remote teaching this school year, I turned to her profile to get all kinds of tips! If you’re someone that is looking for ways to add technology into your curriculum more, she is your gal!

6 – @targetteachers

What teacher doesn’t love Target? Michelle and Hadar are two teachers that share the goodies they get from Target and how they bring them into the classroom. This usually looks like organization, but can also be classroom activities or treat bags for students or teachers! As someone that adores Target, I love this teacher Instagram as it gives me ideas on how to organize my room, even if they are both elementary teachers.

7 – @teachlikeyoumeanit

One of my favorite teacher Instagrams is Kayla from Teach Like You Mean It. Perhaps it’s because she was pregnant around the same time I was or it could be that she’s a middle school teacher at a STEAM project-based school. Either way, I always look forward to her posts and stories, as I always learn something new!

8 – @thetownieteacher

First off, Michaela’s account is private, so if you want to see the amazingness of her feed, you have to send her a DM and prove you’re a teacher. AND IT’S TOTALLY WORTH IT. She’s a high school ELA teacher that shares her classroom library, her Trader Joe’s hauls, and shares her lessons often. She’s an amazing resource to have on the Teachergram, so follow her! As a newer English teacher, she has been one of the high school teacher Instagrams that I am always looking forward to seeing!

9 – @apron_education

LaNesha is a kindergarten teacher, who believes that representation is important in education. She is always creating content for elementary and I love her vibrancy in her posts. If you’re an elementary teacher, she is a must follow teacher Instagram account!

10 – @empoweredteachingpodcast

At number 10, I highly encourage you to follow Vanessa! She’s a high school Spanish teacher, who is from Colombia! Not only is she so fun in stories, but she is killing the TikTok game too! If you need a good laugh at teacher situations, she’s got a TikTok for you.
